So today's the day folks. -- the day of the 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Competition at the Glowatz household in New Jersey. We all have been training for this event since last year and are pumped to show off our skills. Let's take some time to recall the "competition" of last year...

Pitiful

Pathetic

Made by a shoe

Simply sad

Decent, although I'd say the same for my three year old cousin's house too.

Well constructed, great form... an overall perfect house really.

So to all who are constructing g-bread houses tonight, I love you, but this might happen to your house...

xoxo

Can't wait to see everyone!

Just finished Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. Her books always find a way to give me the chills.
"Fate is what people invent to explain what they can't understand. If you think Eli's the one, you tell yourself it was meant to happen. And if he breaks your heart, you'll tell yourself it wasn't meant to be. I've spent ten years trying to find a man who knows where I am in a room the moment he steps inside, without having to look. But it hasn't happened. I can admit the truth to myself - that I've got lousy luck at finding love - or I can tell myself that I haven't crossed paths with my soul mate yet. And it's always easier to be a victim than a failure."
"Then what's that something that draws you to one guy out of a crowd? Or that first strike of lightening between you? Or the realization that you've connected so deeply when you've only just met?"
"Love. Love defies explanation. Destiny doesn't."

Today I...
1.) Watched three episodes of Laguna Beach... SO ADDICTED to watching it over and over again. After all, Stephen will always be so dreamy.
2.) Did some last minute Christmas shopping / purchased some wrapping material.
3.) Rejoined the YMCA... I think my favorite part about that place is the adorable old men who come there to socialize rather than workout.. i.e.: they drink their coffee while walking on the treadmill and talk about local politics. It also intrigues me how the cardio room is on the fifth floor and there is a Wilkes University dormitory on the fourth floor. I feel like that's... strange.4.) Finally caught up with THIS kid. Note quite as cute as Stephen Colletti, but a handsome California boy nonetheless.5.) Began to (seriously) mentally prepare for EXTREME GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING -- this isn't to say I haven't been preparing since last year, but currently doing mental exercises etc.

KBYE.

Eight years ago today. Miss you always.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
